NIOSH seeks feedback on Total Worker Health program

Washington – In an effort to bolster its wellness initiative, known as Total Worker Health, NIOSH has proposed a National Occupational Research Agenda for the program.

According to NIOSH, Total Worker Health integrates a variety of approaches, including health promotion, occupational safety and health, compensation programs, and other measures to prevent injury and illness while promoting health and wellness.

The action seeks input from stakeholders regarding the best research, practice and policy issues to include in the program’s broader strategy. NIOSH said it specifically hopes to address several topics from stakeholders, including:

  • Do you see your organization’s goals reflected in the proposed agenda?
  • What are the commonalities between your own work and the proposed agenda?
  • Are there any missing components or gaps in the proposed agenda?

Public comments will be accepted through Dec. 22 and can be made by visiting www.regulations.gov and entering “CDC-2014-0014” in the search field.
