Michael Carbine
Age 31
Site Maintenance, SH&E Coordinator
Scheck Industries Inc.
Westmont, IL

“An example of Michael’s unique ability to be a change agent and enact a positive shift in safety culture came through implementing the latest behavior-based safety program. Working individually with members it was possible to remove obstacles which might prevent someone from participating to the fullest. Innovative or courageous contributions were both privately and publicly rewarded. Striving to make the entire experience a strongly positive one worked to motivate people. Immediately taking action to provide safety equipment and custom fall protection plans in a timely manner helped to demonstrate that the company goes beyond words and will financially commit to the safety needs of employees.”
