The National Safety Council has introduced a free online tool intended to help eliminate motor vehicle crashes, the leading cause of workplace death.

The Safe Driving Kit uses videos, infographics, fact sheets, FAQs and other resources to raise awareness about crash-contributing factors, including distraction, alcohol, drugs, fatigue and seat belt use.

Motor vehicle crashes cost employers about $68 billion in comprehensive costs annually, according to NSC.

“Every 7 seconds someone is injured, and every 15 minutes someone is killed in a car crash,” Jenny Burke, NSC director of advocacy, said in a July 20 press release. “The Safe Driving Kit will help us eliminate preventable deaths at work and on the road.”
