My Story: Robert Jernigan

Robert Jernigan with his father, 1965

My grandfather was a boiler inspector with Hartford Steamboiler. My dad, Bob Jernigan, began his career as a safety engineer with Liberty Mutual Insurance back in 1965. I am shown pictured with him, sometime in the late 1960s. He retired from the field in 2002.

After graduating college and working as a high school science teacher for a couple of years, I was looking for a job change. My dad suggested interviewing with Liberty Mutual, the company he had worked for. At the time, it was hard to imagine doing the same thing he had done. However, now going on 32 years in the field, I remain in the same capacity and with the same company!
