Radiation advisory board schedules public meeting

The Advisory Board on Radiation and Worker Health has scheduled a public meeting to discuss a handful of special exposure cohort petitions and updates on various programs.

In addition to discussing the SEC petitions from 11 facilities, the board will provide updates on other SEC petitions and on NIOSH, Department of Labor and Department of Energy programs.

The board's public meeting will be Feb. 9-11 in Manhattan Beach, CA, with a public comment period available on Feb. 9 and 10.

Implemented by NIOSH, the board is tasked with providing advice to the Department of Health and Human Services on matters pertaining to workers who developed cancer while exposed to radiation.
