NIOSH reflects on history of mine safety research
NIOSH in February released a publication (large .pdf file) that provides a history of the past 100 years of federal mining safety and health research. The report discusses studies and legislation.
The author concluded mining research has been most effective when conducted in cooperation with the people who will use it.
