Solis: Keep workers safe despite economy

Despite the slow recovery from the ongoing recession, employers should not scrimp on workplace safety, Secretary of Labor Hilda L. Solis said recently.

During her Labor Day Address, Solis said she disagreed with people who suggest cutting back on worker training and safety during tough economic times.

"To those who want to cut corners and disregard safety in the workplace, I say keeping workers safe matters far more than saving a few cents," she said.
