FEMA releases Spanish-language PSAs on preparedness
FEMA this week issued a series of Spanish-language public service announcements focused on emergency preparedness.
Released in partnership with the New York-based Ad Council, the PSAs direct viewers to Listo.gov -- the Spanish-language version of Ready.gov that provides preparedness tools such as downloadable family emergency plans and emergency kit checklists. A recent Ad Council survey indicated only 34 percent of Hispanic Americans have a family emergency plan. Sixty-eight percent of respondents said they have taken no steps to prepare for an emergency.
The PSAs were released as part of National Preparedness Month, which takes place annually in September.
