MSHA to update public on UBB

Arlington, VA – The Mine Safety and Health Administration has scheduled a public briefing for June 29 to provide information on its ongoing investigation of the April 2010 Upper Big Branch Mine-South explosion in West Virginia.

The agency will discuss evidence found at the scene, although some information will remain confidential due to the concurrent Department of Justice investigation.

The briefing will take place at the National Mine Health and Safety Academy in Beaver, WV, and comes one year after MSHA began its investigation.
