New training tools cover miners’ rights

Arlington, VA – The Mine Safety and Health Administration on June 23 released new training tools to educate miners on their rights and responsibilities.

The Federal Mine Safety and Health Act prohibits discrimination against miners for exercising their rights, particularly those related to safety and health. The online tools include a form for filing an anonymous hazard complaint, a discrimination complaint packet and “black lung” disease benefits information.
