DOT to host outreach session on truck weight, size study

Washington – The Department of Transportation is scheduled to host a public outreach session on May 29 concerning a planned study on potential safety and infrastructure impacts of increasing federal truck weight and size limits.

The study is required under a provision in MAP-21 (.pdf file), a surface transportation funding bill signed into law in July 2012. DOT is requesting feedback on how it should collect and analyze data for the study.

The outreach session will take place at DOT headquarters in Washington and also will be available as a webinar.
