Call for nominations: 2011 'Safe-in-Sound' awards

NIOSH, in partnership with the National Hearing Conservation Association, is accepting nominations for the 2011 Safe-in-Sound Excellence in Hearing Loss Prevention Awards (.pdf file).

According to the award website, applicants are judged on key performance indicators in a review process designed to evaluate hearing loss prevention programs in three industrial sectors: manufacturing, construction and services. Individuals or organizations from any industrial sector also may be recognized with the Safe-in-Sound Innovation in Hearing Loss Prevention Award for fostering, creating and implementing new and unique advances in the prevention of hearing loss.

A representative from each of the selected organizations will be invited to the 36th Annual Conference of the National Hearing Conservation Association, where they will receive the award and present their award-winning strategies.
