FMCSA releases logbook examples incorporating HOS changes

Washington – The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration on Feb. 23 released new examples of hours-of-service logbook entries (.pdf file) for commercial motor vehicle operators.

The examples incorporate future changes instituted by the agency’s recent HOS final rule and apply to property-carrying CMV operators unless otherwise indicated. Each example containing a violation describes the provision affected with blue lines representing a driver’s appropriate use of on-duty time and red arrows pointing to violations.
