MSHA plans public update on Upper Big Branch investigation

Arlington, VA – The Mine Safety and Health Administration has scheduled a public briefing for June 29 to provide information on the investigation into the April explosion at Upper Big Branch Mine-South in West Virginia.

The investigation began a year ago. A MSHA press release said the agency plans to outline physical evidence, but will keep some information private because of the ongoing criminal investigation by the Department of Justice.
