NIOSH studies mine safety

Washington – NIOSH recently released several documents related to mine safety.

Another study analyzed (.pdf file) the strength of fiber-reinforced shotcrete, which is used to provide ground support in weak rock mines to reduce injuries and fatalities from falls.

NIOSH also published a list (.pdf file) of coal mines that provide unique rescue training.
