Online game aims to prepare families for disasters

Irving, TX – A new free game from the American College of Emergency Physicians and Legacy Games aims to help families prepare for disasters and emergencies.

In the game, a player competes against a computer opponent for the title of “Disaster Hero.” It is geared toward children, teens, parents and caregivers, and includes genres such as arcade, puzzles, hidden objects and quizzes. Topics covered include emergency planning and common hazards encountered after a natural disaster.

The game was funded by a grant from the Department of Homeland Security.
