OSHA opens four new area offices

OSHA recently announced the opening of four new area offices in the Southwest.

The offices are located in Las Vegas; Oakland, CA; Phoenix; and San Diego. All four are in states that operate their own OSHA programs; their creation is part of OSHA's enhanced oversight of State Plans.

The State Plan program came under fire last year following the release of a report (.pdf file) that found deficiencies in Nevada’s program and a lack of sufficient federal oversight.
