OSHA seeking comments on training institute program
Washington – OSHA is soliciting comments until Oct. 31 on how to improve training offered to private-sector employees and employers through the OSHA Training Institute Education Centers program.
The agency is seeking comment on topics such as adding training sites, adding courses, and instituting a nationwide certificate and degree program.
OTI training centers are run by OSHA-authorized nonprofit organizations that offer courses on safety and health topics. The centers also assist OSHA in its Outreach Training Program.
“The OTI Education Centers have trained more than 300,000 students since it began in 1992,” OSHA administrator David Michaels said in a press release, adding that the comments will help enhance that training.
