PHMSA releases new website for pipeline safety initiative

Washington – The Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration has unveiled a new website aimed at providing safety information on local pipeline networks.

The site includes safety advisories on specific pipelines, maps, reports, research and other resources to inform the public on local pipeline infrastructure. PHMSA officials said they will add new information to the website as it becomes available.

The Department of Transportation on April 4 launched a national safety initiative to repair and replace aging pipelines to prevent potentially catastrophic incidents.
