Researchers to host webcast on rural road safety

Researchers from the University of Minnesota Center for Excellence in Rural Safety in Minneapolis will host a webcast Nov. 9 on strategies for lowering crash risks on rural roads.

The webcast will highlight a statewide Strategic Highway Safety Plan developed by the Minnesota Department of Transportation in 2007 to guide safety investments and decisions for its Toward Zero Deaths efforts. The webcast also will explain Mn/DOT's County Road Safety Plan, which prioritizes roadway networks and uses analytical techniques to recommend strategies for lowering crash risk on roads in 87 counties.
