Show your support of the STANDUP Act

The Safe Teen and Novice Driver Uniform Protection (STANDUP) Act recently was introduced in Congress by Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY) and Reps. Tim Bishop (D-NY) and Randy Hultgren (R-IL) to encourage states to adopt Graduated Driver Licensing laws that meet specific teen driving minimum requirements.

NSC supports this legislation and encourages its members to reach out to their federal legislators to urge them to co-sponsor this important bill. Contact your representatives in the House and Senate on their website and submit the text of the appropriate letter below. If your House member or Senator is one of the three lead sponsors mentioned above, please send them a thank you letter instead.

If you are able to, please customize the letter with a personal plea or story – adding a personal touch to the letter adds weight to the issue. Please send a copy of any response you receive to your letter to Chloé White, NSC government affairs assistant.
