Arlington, VA – The Mine Safety and Health Administration has extended, for the fourth time, the comment period for its Request for Information regarding refuge alternatives in underground coal mines.
MSHA originally published a request for comment in August 2013. The latest extension provides stakeholders additional time to consider new research, the agency said in a notice posted in the Oct. 1 Federal Register.
The new deadline for comments is April 2.
