Construction safety group updates jobsite safety climate workbook

Silver Spring, MD – Noting that partnerships between construction management and employees “are most effective when they exist within a positive safety climate,” the Center for Construction Research and Training, also known as CPWR, has updated its workbook, Strengthening Jobsite Safety Climate by Using and Improving Leading Indicators.

As part of the update, CPWR has added eight leading indicator worksheets that address the following topics:

Five-level scoring for each worksheet helps to assess an organization’s safety climate on a scale of “inattentive” to “exemplary.” Users can then adopt one of four recommendations to make improvements over a specified time frame.

CPWR also developed the Safety Climate Assessment Tool (S-CAT), which allows employers to analyze their results against other construction companies.
