Industry group updates resource on use of drones near communications towers

Watertown, SD – The National Association of Tower Erectors has updated its guidance on the safe operation of small drones near cellular, broadcast and electrical distribution towers, in addition to wireless infrastructure.

Published in January, Unmanned Aerial Systems Operations Around Vertical Communications Infrastructure, 2nd edition, incorporates updates from new guidelines and provisions associated with Federal Aviation Administration requirements under 14 CFR Part 107.

The guidance – intended for tower technicians, ground personnel, flight operators and the public – includes information on:
