Jefferson City, MO — The Missouri Department of Labor and Industrial Relations Division of Labor Standards has launched a new website intended to help employers quickly access resources to develop safer, healthier workplaces while saving money on lost time and workers’ compensation.
The Missouri Safe at Work Program and website, which debuted Sept. 6, combine and promote the Division of Labor’s three main safety programs:
- The On-Site Safety and Health Consultation Program.
- The Missouri Workers’ Safety Program.
- The Missouri Mine and Cave Safety Program.
In addition to combining the resources into one portal, the site offers employers the ability to research data on the state’s most hazardous industries. That data includes days of the week and times of the year that injuries are most likely to occur, counties where each industry experiences the bulk of injuries, and the most common injuries by industry.
“[The] launch of the MO Safe at Work website and campaign underscores the importance of workplace safety and its impact on the state’s economic development,” Missouri DOLIR Director Anna Hui said in a Sept. 6 news release.
Data will be updated monthly, the release states.
