Orlando, FL — The National Safety Council celebrated safety heroes and recognized outstanding projects and organizations during its 22nd annual Green Cross for Safety Celebration on Oct. 11 at the Orange County Convention Center.
Highlighting the celebratory event was the presentation of the Green Cross for Safety awards, presented annually to individuals and organizations that have demonstrated leadership in keeping people safe on and off the job. This year’s recipients:
- Nutrien AG Solutions: Safety Advocate Award (sponsored by FirstGroup)
- Murphy-Hoffman Co.: Safety Excellence Award (sponsored by UPS)
- Amazon: Safety Innovation Award
“I want to sincerely thank and congratulate the Green Cross for Safety award winners for the incredible work they do to keep millions of people around the world safe – especially during a time when that’s more important than ever,” NSC President and CEO Lorraine M. Martin said. “It’s through their commitment and selflessness that people can live their fullest lives, on and off the clock.”
The event, which also featured a silent auction and inspiring stories from a survivor advocate, raised more than $600,000 to support NSC research, education and advocacy to eliminate the leading causes of preventable injury.
