OSHA gives more follow-up time to heat-rule hearing participants

Washington — People and groups that participated in public hearings on OSHA’s proposed heat rule now have until Oct. 30 to submit post-hearing comments.

The hearings took place June 16 through July 2.

The 30-day extension allows anyone who filed a Notice of Intention to Appear to now “file evidence and data relevant to the proceeding, including written responses to questions asked during hearing proceedings, as well as final written briefs.” It comes after a Sept. 9 request from the Coalition for Workplace Safety. Labor Department Chief Administrative Law Judge Stephen R. Henley granted that extension in an undated order.
