Washington – The Federal Railroad Administration and Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration are scheduled to host a public meeting Aug. 27-28 on hazardous materials transportation on railroads.
FRA and PHMSA are researching operational factors that influence the safety of transporting hazardous materials by rail, states a notice published in the July 18 Federal Register. According to the agenda, the meeting will address topics such as non-conforming or leaking packages, portable tanks, tank car unloading, and position of railcars. The public can submit comments, data and other input for consideration at the meeting.
