NIOSH ladder safety app now available in Spanish

Washington – NIOSH has released a Spanish-language version of its ladder safety application for mobile devices.

Originally launched in June, the app features a guide for proper ladder selection, inspection, positioning and safe use. When a user’s phone is set to Spanish language, the Spanish version of the app will install when downloaded, NIOSH said in a December email to Safety+Health magazine.

The free app can be downloaded on both iPhone and Android devices.

In 2009, more than 600 workers were killed and more than 212,000 were seriously injured by falls to the same or a lower level, according to NIOSH.
