Arlington, VA — The Mine Safety and Health Administration is accepting applications for more than $10.5 million in state grants for safety and health training and retraining of miners and mine operators.
Any state in which mining occurs may apply. According to an MSHA press release, the agency may provide up to 80% of program costs under state grant funding, while the state must furnish at least 20% of costs.
The deadline to apply is July 25. The grants are scheduled to be awarded no later than Sept. 30.
