Arlington, VA — The Mine Safety and Health Administration is accepting applications for its Brookwood-Sago Mine Safety Grants Program.
Under the program, MSHA will provide up to $250,000 in grants for states, territories, and private and public nonprofit organizations to develop “education and training programs to help identify, avoid and prevent unsafe working conditions in and around mines,” states a notice published in the July 23 Federal Register.
As many as five grants could be awarded, with individual grants ranging from $50,000 to $250,000.
The deadline for applications is Aug. 23. The grants are scheduled to be awarded on or before Sept. 28.
