Live webcast: NSC, NTSB to host discussion on advanced driver assistance systems

The National Safety Council, together with the National Transportation Safety Board, will stream a live webcast of a panel discussion on advanced driver assistance systems on Oct. 27.

Topics will include the capabilities, benefits and availability of current technologies such as forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning and blind spot detection; human factors considerations during development; and public education, training and promotional efforts about those technologies.

Vehicle crashes continue to be a leading cause of preventable death in the United States. Preliminary estimates show fatalities were more than 9 percent higher in the first six months of 2016 than during the same period in 2015.

Anyone with questions about the webcast can email [email protected].
