Cell phone-related motor vehicle crashes have increased for the third year in a row, accounting for 27 percent of all crashes, according to recent National Safety Council estimates. In addition, the data indicates that texting-related crashes increased to 6 percent from 5 percent, prompting NSC President and CEO Deborah A.P. Hersman to call for “better education, laws and enforcement to make our roads safer for everyone."
