National Safety Council President and CEO Deborah A.P. Hersman has written a blog post for the Department of Labor. In the April 14 post, Hersman discusses the dangers of distracted driving and calls on employers to review or establish policies on worker cell phone use.
“There is no safe way to use a cell phone and drive,” she writes. “Employers who expect employees to use cell phones while driving as part of their business must recognize that doing so exposes their workers to an avoidable crash risk and their company to liability.”
