300A logs need to be posted tomorrow – are you ready?

On Feb. 1, many employers will have to post a summary of their 2012 injuries and illnesses where their workers can see it. Are you prepared to post it?

The summary – known as the 300A log – is required by OSHA to be up from Feb. 1 to April 30, and careful recordkeeping is necessary to meet the agency’s requirements. This can be a difficult task.

“It’s very hard to maintain OSHA records accurately,” said Bill Taylor, a recordkeeping expert spoke who spoke with me for a recent article in Safety+Health.
