Washington — The Federal Railroad Administration is accepting nominations for membership on its Railroad Safety Advisory Committee.
The 25-member committee provides information, advice and recommendations to the FRA administrator. RSAC members include a variety of voices from the railroad industry, including labor, freight and passenger rail representatives, as well as organizations that represent suppliers and shippers. Its two-year charter was renewed on Jan. 13.
According to a notice published Feb. 24, members meet virtually three to four times a year.
Qualified individuals can self-nominate or be nominated by another individual or organization. Nominations must include:
- Name, title and relevant contact information of the individual requesting consideration.
- A letter of support from a company, union, trade association, or academic or nonprofit organization explaining why the person should be considered.
- A short biography of the nominee, featuring professional and academic credentials.
- An affirmative statement explaining why the nominee’s organization should be considered.
The deadline to submit nominations is March 26. Past members are eligible to serve again.
