Washington – NIOSH has made one of its injury databases available to the public, allowing users to create national estimates on a variety of nonfatal occupational injuries.

The Work-Related Injury Statistics Query System contains injury data from 1998 to 2012. The public can search by demographic, nature of the injury, and incident characteristics such as the event or source that contributed to the injury. Data from 2013 is expected to be added to the system later this year.

The injury data in Work-RISQS comes from the National Electronic Injury Surveillance System and is limited to injuries treated in U.S. hospital emergency departments.
