“Our injuries and recordable rates were high when Tom came to work for us. Tom worked with the four unions as well as management to create a metrics-driven program to identify highly problematic areas. Once these were identified, he created customized training programs and behavioral-based safety programs to address the issues. By opening and increasing communication with OSHA, the U.S. Coast Guard and the Department of Natural Resources, he was able to expand our available resources for training. This led to the re-creation of the Employee Safety Committees, Weekly High Impact Inspection Teams, Foreman Training and Subcontractor Early Prevention Safety Training.”
