“At the Safety Directorate in Afghanistan, Ross advised three aircraft wings on occupational safety program management. Ross supervised Afghan linguists, which enabled translation of key witnesses during accident investigations, and delivery of core safety guidance while advising Afghan AF personnel. Ross further expanded his leadership roles by filling 
additional duties as flight safety Non-
Commissioned Officer, primary Postal Officer, Weapons Safety Manager and Chief of Safety. Finally, Ross authored a quarterly ‘S-AAF-ETY FOCUS’ bulletin highlighting unique hazards that 8,000 United States and Afghan AF personnel face in austere conditions.”
