Orlando, FL — Describing what it feels like to be back in person at the 2021 NSC Safety Congress & Expo, and catching up with old friends and meeting new ones, Tim Page-Bottorff recalled a line from Han Solo in the movie “Star Wars: The Force Awakens”: “Chewie, we’re home.”

The senior safety consultant for SafeStart shared that sentiment, along with numerous laughs, with Safety+Health Associate Editors Barry Bottino, Kevin Druley and Alan Ferguson as the special guest of the second live recording of their On the Safe Side podcast on Oct. 12, or Day 2 of the annual event at the Orange County Convention Center.

“The in-person feeling is something that you can’t explain virtually,” Page-Bottorff said. “Being in person, to me, is where it’s at, and I think the human connection is what drives the engagement. And for an educational event like this, you need the engagement.”

During the podcast, Page-Bottorff and the trio shared some of the things they learned on the second day of the event, as well as a bit of history of the event.
