“Laura initiated a dust hazard assessment in compliance with NFPA on all parts of the process that contained combustible dust. She led a team that used qualitative and quantitative methodologies to document the risks. The team struggled with documentation of hazard mitigation within bulk storage silos. Laura brought in industry expertise to help guide the team through the assessment for the bulk storage silos. After the risk was documented, Laura wrote a white paper on silo dust explosion scenarios to share with others in her company. Laura’s approach to understanding dust hazards allowed 12 risks to be fully documented and gave others in the company technical background for addressing dust risks.”
