FMCSA solicits applications for FY 2011 safety grant funding

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration announced it is soliciting applications for fiscal year 2011 safety grant funding.

According to a notice (.pdf file) published in the July 13 Federal Register, the agency is operating under an extension of the Safe, Accountable, Flexible, Efficient Transportation Equity Act: A Legacy for Users -- which will expire Dec. 31.

FMCSA expects new authorization to make changes to its grant programs, but is preparing for FY 2011 assuming 11 of its current grant programs will continue.

The notice is intended to provide grantees with information “well in advance” of FMCSA’s safety grant application deadline.
