Honeywell acquires Sperian in $1.4 billion deal

Morris Township, NJ-based Honeywell on Sept. 15 announced it has completed its acquisition of Sperian Protection for approximately $1.4 billion, including the assumption of net debt.

Sperian, based in Paris, manufactures head, body and fall protection. Its brands include Howard Leight, Miller and UVEX. Honeywell said Sperian will be combined within Honeywell's Automation and Control Solutions' Life Safety business.

"With highly developed product lines, well-recognized brands and a strong distribution channel, Sperian complements and significantly strengthens Honeywell's position in the personal protective equipment segment," said Mark S. Levy, Honeywell Life Safety president and CEO.
