MSDs down in poultry industry: report

Musculoskeletal disorders in the poultry industry have declined 75 percent since 1992, according to a white paper (.pdf file) sponsored by the National Chicken Council, National Turkey Federation and U.S. Poultry and Egg Association.

The white paper documents efforts by the poultry industry and OSHA to prevent and treat MSDs and examines ergonomics efforts in poultry facilities across the country.

OSHA issued voluntary ergonomics guidelines for the poultry processing industry in September 2004.
