FACOSH to meet this month; seeks new members

Washington – The Federal Advisory Council on Occupational Safety and Health is scheduled to meet Feb. 18 regarding an update on a presidential initiative to improve workplace safety at government worksites.

The tentative meeting agenda also includes updates on a 2014 report to the president on federal agency occupational safety and health programs, a construction safety and health stand-down, and proposed OSHA safety and health management system guidelines. Requests to speak at the meeting are due Feb. 11.

In related news, OSHA is requesting nominations for FACOSH membership. Six positions are available: three to represent labor and three to represent management.

The terms will last for three years and would begin Jan. 1, 2017. Nominations are due April 29.
