Setting the agenda: NIOSH seeks input on health care, social assistance safety

July 12, 2016

Washington – NIOSH is seeking feedback on improving workplace safety and health for health care and social assistance sector workers, as part of the National Occupational Research Agenda. The sector includes workers in hospitals, outpatient services, nursing and residential care, home care, child day care, and veterinary services.

Workers, employers, researchers and occupational safety and health professionals are invited to submit their thoughts on the sector’s most important issues regarding occupational safety and health. Specifically, NIOSH would like information in response to the following questions:

  • What areas of this industry sector should be focused on in the third decade of NORA?
  • What injuries and illnesses are of particular concern to workers in the health care and social assistance industry sector?
  • What workplace interventions have been shown to be effective in this sector?
  • What projects or initiatives do you think would have the greatest impact on workers in the health care and social assistance sector?

Stakeholders can post their comments on the blog or email them to NIOSH_HCSA@cdc.gov. The deadline is Aug. 31.
