FRA to revive safety advisory committee

Washington — The Federal Railroad Administration will renew the Railroad Safety Advisory Committee’s charter, according to a notice published in the Sept. 19 Federal Register.

The new charter will remain in effect for two years from the date it is filed with Congress, the notice states.

The committee is made up of 40 members from 29 organizations, representing various industry perspectives. The committee has not met since May 25, 2017, according to FRA’s website, and the previous charter lapsed this past May.

The agency established RSAC in 1996.
