100 years of Safety+Health: 'The source of such great inspiration'

February 24, 2019

Every month during 2019, Safety+Health will be sharing bits of the magazine’s history from its first 100 years.

The first issue of National Safety News, published in November 1919, featured a box on the front page introducing the newsletter to readers. The last paragraph reads as follows:

“One more thing: The National Safety News will carry in each issue a page of editorials which will reflect the opinions and ideas of the leaders in safety work whose addresses at the Annual Congresses of the National Safety Council have been the source of such great inspiration to their hearers.”

This month, S+H will revive this tradition through a new monthly column. “Speaker Spotlight” will feature some of the top presenters – as rated by attendees – from the most recent gatherings of the National Safety Council Congress & Expo. We look forward to sharing their insight and expertise. Read the first “Speaker Spotlight,” written by Dale Lesinski of DiVal Safety.
