NSC seeks members for board of directors, Delegates Committee

January 27, 2021

Itasca, IL — The National Safety Council values diversity and cultivates an inclusive environment as we dedicate ourselves to our mission of saving lives – from the workplace to anyplace. We’re seeking a diverse group of individuals to serve on our board of directors and Delegates Committee.

The NSC board of directors is responsible for ensuring the council fulfills its mission by planning for the future, monitoring current operations and evaluating the organization. A member must fulfill the fiduciary responsibilities of the board of directors, making organizational decisions that protect and further the mission. Directors may be elected for a term of no less than one year or no more than two years. The board meets in person at least twice each fiscal year, in addition to two board conference calls.

NSC delegates provide direction, counsel and guidance to the board of directors regarding causes and solutions to identified areas of need; give policy position statement recommendations to the board; assist in the execution of the council’s strategic plan; and promote NSC membership. Delegates are elected to a two-year term. The committee meets as often as deemed necessary to fulfill its responsibilities, but no fewer than twice annually.
