Lansing, MI – The Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Administration is aiming to reduce injuries and illnesses in high-hazard industries by 15 percent and construction industry fatalities by 10 percent during the next five years, according to a draft (.doc file) of the agency’s goals for fiscal years 2014-2018.

The goals, dated May 8, also outline how the State Plan state intends to encourage employers to commit to a positive safety and health workplace culture through increased cooperative program participation, as well as promote safety and health management systems during site visits.

The plan is scheduled to be put into action Oct. 1. Questions, comments and suggestions can be emailed to rayr2@michigan.gov.
